About the Photographer
I've always liked to take pictures of objects that reveal a mysterious quality. I'm interested to record a sense of the life force that pervades all things. I take pictures as a form of contemplation of the sacred, as taught by my spiritual teacher, Adi Da Samraj.
I was drafted into the military in 1965 and I bought my first camera in Viet Nam. I was immediately drawn to photography, and found that taking pictures enabled me to express the intensity of that experience.
Once back in California, I began to photograph my family and friends. I studied photography in college and opened a black and white portrait studio in Palo Alto, California.
Currently, I live in New Zealand with my wife and daughter. I teach photography privately and through Auckland's Unitech and work as an archival quality printer.
